Everything in my TpT store will be 20% off 8/23/2020 to 8/26/2020 to help teachers that are just figuring out what they might be teaching (and how they’ll be teaching it!).
I know times are tough and everything feels overwhelming. It turns out, I am heading back into the classroom…starting next week! So I completely get the sense of panic some of you may be experiencing.
Right now, I’m thinking about social emotional learning, and hybrid classrooms with synchronous teaching…everything is keeping me up at night. We’re all so worried, about everything and everyone.
We were never meant to carry the weight of the entire world on our shoulders, yet here we are.
Some loving advice from a year 5 teacher that will sound generic:
- Take a bath- and I mean the full experience. Light some candles, throw in some Bubble Bath, put an audiobook or podcast on. Really stop to experience the moment. Put a face mask on, and maybe a leave- in hair conditioner in.
- Go for a walk- I love going for walks in the local parks around my home. I’m fortunate to live in a gorgeous part of the country and I cannot wait to breathe in the Fall air as I hike again. But, even a walk around the block with your partner, dog, kids, best friend, or Pokemon Go can be enough to get those endorphins flowing.
- Try not to drink on a weeknight. This was hard for me, as I love a glass of wine to unwind. But, the more I did it, the more I relied on it. And then I would feel groggy or cloudy the next day because I was up late, upset and venting. Skip the alcohol. Eat some ice cream.
What helps you through the year? Remember, you cannot pour from an empty cup.
And need less “at-home” advice? Need more “in the classroom RIGHT NOW” material?
If you need a ready-to-to, no prep unit, I have you covered with a distance learning bundle.
